The MSRC is composed of individuals who are interested in the success of public vocational rehabilitation programs. Members, who are appointed by the Governor, include representatives from the education, rehabilitation and employment fields. SRC members serve three-year terms.
By law, more than half of MSRC’s members must have disabilities themselves. The Council also strives to have members representing the diverse regions of Maryland.
MSRC members attend quarterly meetings, usually held in Baltimore at the Workforce & Technology Center. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these meetings are currently virtual. They hear about and discuss current topics about DORS programs and services and make recommendations to DORS as needed.
MSRC members are active on committees. These committees review DORS policy changes, provide input about DORS strategic planning and update the citizens of Maryland about the status of the public VR system through an annual report.
